About the University:
Sebha University is a public university in the southern city of Sebha, Libya, with campuses in Sebha, Oubari, Gatt, Brrak, Tregan, Zouwailah, and, outside Libya, N'Djamena in Chad. Its higher education tradition dates back to 1976 when a faculty of education was established as part of the University of Tripoli. Sebha gained recognition as an independent university in 1983, initially with two faculties, of arts and science, respectively. Other fields, such as medicine, agriculture, science, technology, economics and accounting were subsequently added, until the number of university faculties reached 21 all over the south of Libya and neighbouring Chad. The University currently offers postgraduate studies in five of its faculties: arts, science, engineering and technical sciences, energy and mining, and agriculture. Over 25 thousand students studied at Sebha University in 2016.
